History
Used for thousands of years for its calming and therapeutic properties. Romans used lavender for calming baths and to soothe the skin. Greeks crushed and burned the plant to create a soothing aromatic experience. Lavender has also been referred to as Nard, after the city Nardus. The use of Nard can be found in the bible. French scientist, René Gattefossé, one of the father’s of aromatherapy, was first to reveal lavender’s benefits on a wide scale.
Oil Description
Lavender is an extremely versatile oil and has many therapeutic uses. Its calming, clean, floral aroma and properties make it a popular addition to relaxing bath soaps and lotions, room sprays and even tea and desserts. Aside from its wonderful scent, lavender essential oil promotes skin health, emotional support and much more.
Cautions
Consult your physician if you are pregnant, nursing or under a doctor’s care. Do not put oils directly in your eyes (oils can drip into eyes – if this happens, flush with fractionated coconut oil, not water). Do not drip oils into the ear canal. Avoid sensitive areas.
