- Provides respiratory support.
History
The bark and leaves have been a valuable source of materials for the Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander peoples for things such as shields, tools and even natural remedies. Koalas also rely heavily on a specific species of eucalyptus trees as a source of food and shelter.
Oil Description
Eucalyptus trees, Eucalyptus radiata, are related to the melaleuca tree, and are part of the myrtle family. Eucalyptus oil consists of two chemical components, eucalyptol and alpha-terpineol which provides fresh soothing effects when applied to skin. In addition, these components support clear breathing when inhaled. Its purifying properties make eucalyptus oil not only a powerful cleaning agent, but an effective natural skin cleanser.
Cautions
Use with a carrier for sensitive skin. Keep out of reach of children. Consult your physician if you are pregnant, nursing or under a doctor’s care. Do not put oils directly in your eyes (oils can drip into eyes – if this happens, flush with fractionated coconut oil, not water). Do not drip oils into the ear canal. Avoid sensitive areas.
