History

The name, Zingiber, comes from the Greek word zingiberis, which originated from the Sanskrit sringabera, or, “horn shaped.” Throughout history, ginger has been utilized for cooking in dried or powdered form. It is widely used in Chinese cuisine, as it was was once thought to have been a gift from their god.

Oil Description

Ginger essential oil, Zingiber officinale, is harvested from the root of the ginger plant that lays below the surface. Use with a carrier for sensitive skin. Keep out of reach of children. Consult your physician if you are pregnant, nursing or under a doctor’s care. Do not put oils directly in your eyes (oils can drip into eyes – if this happens, flush with fractionated coconut oil, not water). Do not drip oils into the ear canal. Avoid sensitive areas.
