History
The indigenous people of North America utilized wintergreen’s natural therapeutic benefits for hundreds of years. It was used to aid with sinus and respiratory ailments as well as a pain reducer.
Oil Description
Wintergreen essential oil is distilled from the creeping shrub and is one of the only two plants in the world that contain methyl salicylate. It’s powerful therapeutic properties makes it a commonly found ingredient in rubs and lotions.
Cautions
Use with a carrier for sensitive skin. Keep out of reach of children. Consult your physician if you are pregnant, nursing or under a doctor’s care. Do not put oils directly in your eyes (oils can drip into eyes – if this happens, flush with fractionated coconut oil, not water). Do not drip oils into the ear canal. Avoid sensitive areas.

Directions for Use
- Diffuse 3-4 drops for an invigorating and seasonal aroma.
- Apply 1-2 drops, heavily diluted, to area of choice.
- Combine a few drops with a carrier oil and add to a massage for a warming effect.
- Add 1-2 drops to a warm bath to help soothe sore, achy joints and muscles and improve your mood.
- Add a drop to your toothbrush before brushing to support oral health.
- Add 1 drop of Wintergreen oil on tongue for fresh breath.
- Apply a few drops to a cotton ball and leave in commonly odorous areas to freshen smells (gym bag, tenis shoes, closets).
- Incorporate into your skin care routine to reduce blemishes and maintain healthy skin( dilute heavily).
