History
Spearmint has been used therapeutically for thousands of years by the Chinese, Greeks, and Romans, with uses ranging from digestive support to help with concentration. For decades, spearmint has been used in gum, candy, and oral health products such as toothpaste or mouthwash.
Oil Description
Spearmint oil contains the chemical components, carvone and limonene which invigorate the skin and senses.
Cautions
Use with a carrier for sensitive skin. Keep out of reach of children. Consult your physician if you are pregnant, nursing or under a doctor’s care. Do not put oils directly in your eyes (oils can drip into eyes – if this happens, flush with fractionated coconut oil, not water). Do not drip oils into the ear canal. Avoid sensitive areas.

Directions for Use
- Diffuse 1-3 drops of spearmint oil to uplift mood. Blends well with wild orange oil in the diffuser.
- Diffuse to support feeling energized. Blends well lavender, rosemary, basil, peppermint, and eucalyptus essential oils.
- Apply to toothbrush before brushing for fresh breath.
- Take one drop by mouth (on tongue) to freshen breath.
- Add a drop or two to any dessert, drink, salad, or entrée for flavoring.
- Take a couple of drops in a “shot” of water to promote digestion and for occasional stomach upset (2-4oz of water)
- Apply to the back of the neck or on pressure points (wrists, temples, back of the neck, behind ears, the base of the skull) for emotional support and to promote focus.
- Spray, drip or place on a cotton ball in areas where you want to deter insects and critters.
- Take 2 drops in a veggie capsule to promote digestive health.
- Rub 1 drop on both pointer fingers and apply to temples (don’t get in eyes) for an energy boost. Helps if you can lay down and close your eyes.
- Add 3-4 drops to the shower for an invigorating experience. Drip on washcloth placed over drain (be careful not to overflow shower).
